November saw stocks largely struggle for ¾ of the month. The last week of November lifted most equity marketsback into the black for the month, though.
- November was quite disappointing and even a bit unnerving for investors until the last six trading days of the month.
- Stocks fell for most of November before a fierce Thanksgiving Week rally pushed most equity markets to small monthly gains.
- Bonds also finished the month with modest positive results. The Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut interest rates on December 10, too.
- The federal government shutdown ended in November, however key economic data from October was never collected. It can never be recovered either.
