Hello everyone,
Looking for some thoughts on a case.
• Client is planning to retire in 2022.
• 100% of retirement portfolio is in a 401(k).
• Pension estimates are at $133K/year starting in 2022 which puts them squarely in
the middle of the 24% tax bracket.
• Social Security estimates at 70 should be around $45k (highest payout).
• Estimated RMD at age 72 should be another $74k.
• So by age 72 they'll be right back up to the 32% bracket.
Question: Does it make sense to convert anything to Roth given his tax bracket?
Thank you!
